Custom Prefab Home in Massachusetts

Learn more about this hybrid home currently under construction in Essex, MA! The custom home features a combination of construction methods, including timber frame, Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) and conventional Energy Smart 2x wall and roof panels. This one level home features an Eastern White Pine timber frame with a Queen Post truss design in the central core of the house where the great room, dining and kitchen are. The wings of the home feature conventional 2x panelized construction. The roof over the timber frame is comprised of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs), for optimal energy performance. Also attached is a garage, which is constructed of our conventional wall and roof panels, a speedy way to frame a house! 

The excavation and foundation for the home was done at the end of October and Caddis Construction began the installation of the frame the week of Thanksgiving. The crew had a good portion of the weather tight sell done by the New Year. Building with prefab construction methods can save the homeowner a lot of time on site!

This new prefab home features a nice one level floor plan. The center section features the main living areas of the home, including the great room, dining room and kitchen. To the left if the main living space are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The far right wing of the house features a spacious master bedroom suite. The attached garage features a bonus space above, perfect for a game room or home theater. There is also a full basement enabling the client to use this space as living space in the future.
